Who’s Miss Polkadot?

Hi and thanks for visiting my little blog! I’m a 23-year-old girl from Germany with a passion for writing and healthy living. Why Miss Polkadot? Because I’m fond of everything polka-dotted and maybe just a bit shy [but working on it!].

Photography, trying new recipes and foods and being with the people I love make me happy. Living by the motto of “A day without laughter is a lost day” I try to catch the sparks of happiness in every day.  Try to remember every day for its little bits of joy instead of the grievances.

Writing has been part of my life ever since. My passion for words was sparked early on when I couldn’t wait until I was able to read myself. Fast forward to today I choose my Journalism studies which I finished with a Bachelor of Arts in August 2013.

My interest in healthy living, however, came along with an eating disorder that I’m currently in recovery from. [More on that to come.] Going with my motto of seeing the upsides in even the worst happenings I’m grateful my ED actually got me more interested in living a healthy and balanced life. It’s a work in progress still but one I’m eager to continue with.

The reasons to start my blog were curiosity. Wanting to connect with alike minds. An interest in sharing whichever thoughts floated through my mind. Expressing myself. Finding out more about myself and my dreams in life.
Step by step. One sentence at a time.

Because everybody enjoys random facts here are some more about me:

Number one

Number two

    Hey Miss Polkadot,
I followed you here from a comment on Amanda’s post at Running with spoons and your blog really fits my (old?current?)situation. I’m a german girl, recently gratuated, living in a big city starting college and still struggling with anorexia recovery. Healthy weight, but healthy mind? Still not there yet.
I’m gonna check for new posts regularly i think!

I only got the chance to read more about you now 🙂 . I love your positivity and that we share similar traits; believing that by achieving thinness we will be happy (I’m still working to overcome that mindset), I too am the youngest sibling and I will not swim in the ocean :p
